Description

Seeking a volunteer to oversee the creative learning of the missionary children and several staff children at Malamulo Adventist Hospital.&nbsp; The classes are kept small since they are multi-grade and may include students new to English learning.&nbsp; In addition to school activities, some volunteers have helped with Pathfinders and Sabbath School or assisted with outreach to villages nearby.&nbsp; Worksite is on an Adventist college campus so there is opportunity for interaction with Malawian young people.&nbsp; The campus is nestled in the beautiful tea plantations of Malawi's Thyolo District.&nbsp; Camping, hiking, visiting game parks, taking basket-making lessons are some of the activities volunteers have enjoyed in the past.&nbsp; Missionary families often include volunteers in their activities such as backpacking, Sabbath walks, potlucks, so that the volunteers can feel supported in our community.
Cost breakdown:
Volunteer Fundraises:

<li>Insurance (approximately $800 total for 9 months).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Initial Visitor Visa ($50), must be converted to Temporary Residence Permit within 90 days which currently costs $500USD (includes two renewals).</li>
<li>Ticket (Round-trip approximately $3000, if coming from USA)</li>
<li>Immunizations (amount varies)</li>
<li>Total trip expenses to fundraised/paid: $4350&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Malamulo covers:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Accommodations/Utilities/guesthouse meals: $600/month x 9 months = $5400 (hospital guesthouse charges $600/mo which include meals)</li>
<li>$125/month living allowance ($125x 9 mo. = $1125).</li>
<li>Local travel: varies, but you can book hospital transport or join missionaries when they go to town to shop (local transport to town approximately = $5/trip).</li>
<li>Malamulo's contribution = $6750 + local travel.</li>
