POSITION SUMMARY:
&nbsp;
The Volunteer Chaplaincy/Academic Support Worker will experience working at a boarding academy.&nbsp; The Volunteer Chaplaincy/Academic Support Worker lives on campus and will be involved in many aspects of academy and student life.&nbsp; The Volunteer Chaplaincy/Academic Support Worker shall agree to observe the employment and administrative policies of the SDA Church in Canada K-12 Board of Education, those policies of the SDA Church K-12 Board of Education which pertain to the operation of Kingsway College, the policies adopted by the Board of Directors of this school, and those laws and regulations of the Province of Ontario which are applicable to this school.
 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;
&nbsp;

Provides a role model of successful Christian living for the students.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Interacts with students and models spiritual maturity in leading students towards Christ and then spiritual growth.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Will provide administrative support to campus ministries.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Is a member of the Campus Ministries Committee.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Assists the Chaplain in the overall running of the Spiritual program on campus, including organizing religious activities (i.e. Weeks of Prayer, Vespers, Chapels, Power Weekends, Sabbath Schools, and Chapel Churches).
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Works with the Outreach Committee to help organize and implement community outreach programs.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Organizes and provides tutoring for students.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Assists with student transportation needs.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Assists the Student Work Supervisor with the Student Work Program.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Provides adequate supervision of students for which he/she is responsible.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Participates in faculty/staff meetings.&nbsp; Also participates in major school events (i.e. fund dinner, preview weekend, alumni weekend, graduation).
</li>

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
</li>

JOB STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A minimum of two years of university/college required.
</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;
Experience:
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="2">
Should have experience working with and building relationships with youth in a leadership position.
</li>
</ul>

Skills:

Excellent organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">
Excellent communication skills, in particular with a relevant non-English language.
